Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI)
Provides people with low vision and blindness, services and supports necessary to help them attain and keep jobs. Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services are tailored for each person through assessments and one-on-one meetings with professional VR counselors. VR services include: evaluation and treatment of an individual’s disability; information and referral services; vocational counseling and training; job search and job placement assistance; educational guidance (tuition resources and other support); transportation services; occupational tools and equipment; and personal attendant servRSC is the state agency that helps people with disabilities get and keep jobs. Depending upon the individual’s disability, services are provided through either the Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI) or the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR). They help young people throughout Ohio with disabilities ages 14 to 22 transition from the classroom to a workplace or college. They work with families and schools to help youth become independent.
