Developmental Disabilities of Clark County assists over 1,400 residents with information, funding, support, and services for people with conditions such as intellectual disability, autism, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, or traumatic brain injury.
Developmental Disabilities of Clark County is available to anyone of any age.
Some services provided are:
- Job skill training
- Arranging housing and independent living options
- Assuring services for children and adults
- Offering quality training for partner agencies to attain certification from the state in order to work for individuals with developmental disabilities
Costs:
In Clark County, 60% of funding for waivers is provided by the Federal government and 40 % is provided through the Developmental Disabilities of Clark County tax levy
- Early Childhood
- Early intervention services are funded through Federal and State grants and through the Developmental Disabilities of Clark County tax levy
- If a child requires services that are not provided through Early Intervention or the school, some funding may be available through Medicaid or the Family Needs Assistance program (FNA)
- School Age and Transition ages 16 – 22
- Local school districts are required by law to provide free and appropriate education
- If a child requires therapies that are not provided through the school, some funding is available through Medicaid or the Family Needs Assistance program (FNA)
- Adulthood 22 and older
- Payment can be made by the family/the individual themselves
- Funding through Medicaid waivers
- Funding through the Family Needs Assistance program (FNA)
Current operations during COVID-19
- Staff and residents are screened each day by asking wellness questions and monitoring their temperatures
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including masks are available to staff and residents
- Video chats may be used instead of visits
- Services will be provided with no more than 10 people, including staff, in a confined space
