Stepping Stones is a nonprofit United Way partner agency offering year-round programs to people with disabilities at four locations in Greater Cincinnati. At Stepping Stones, children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities find pathways to independence that improve their lives and enable them to more fully participate in their communities.
Stepping Stones is known for innovation and creatively meeting unmet needs. Stepping Stones pioneered camping programs for children and adults who had few or no alternatives. Step-Up is the region’s first alternative autism education program of its kind for students on the autism spectrum who have exhausted options in the traditional school system. It currently serves students from 13 school districts. Stepping Stones continues work
Stepping Stones serves the entire family. Children’s programs are open to siblings and others with mild or no disabilities, creating integrated and inclusive programs that encourage family unity and meet parents’ scheduling needs. Day and overnight summer camps, Saturday clubs, weekend respites and adult day programs also give families respite from constant care.ing to find ways to meet the needs of children and adults with disabilities.
