Columbus Zoo and Aquarium Sensory Day
May 25, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm| $10
May 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will offer Quiet After Hours for guests to enjoy the attractions of the Zoo during a less stimulating time, without the added background sounds (such as music throughout the park or the carousel) that can be challenging for individuals with sensory needs.
Tickets are $10 per general guest and complimentary for members. Please note that the number of tickets to this portion of the day are limited and must be pre-purchased before the event. Both members and general guests must pre-register.
Sensory kits with noise-canceling headphones, sunglasses, and fidget devices will be available at Guest Relations for a $10 refundable deposit. A calming room will be nearby for individuals that may require a quiet space for self-regulation.
The following options and amenities will be available during the after-hours event:
-Visiting select areas of the Zoo, including North America, Polar Frontier, Asia Quest, Jack Hanna’s Animal Encounters Village, and the Shores & Aquarium region
-Meet and greets with the Zoo’s Character Ambassadors
-Limited food and beverage options at Village Coffee Shop, Lakeside Market, and Prairie Outpost. The Columbus Zoo Marketplace and Jr. Zookeeper gift shops will also be open.
-The North America Train and 1914 Mangels-Illions Grand Carousel (for an additional fee)
