OCALI is a program based in Columbus, OH that works to help people with disabilities have the opportunity to live their best lives by promoting change and accessibility for people with disabilities and their families.
OCALI has created numerous Social Narratives and Visual Boards for families to download and use at home during the COVID-19 crisis. Many aspects of life have changed during this pandemic including school, seeing family members, and staying home more, and these things may be challenging to understand. Social narratives teach individuals appropriate social practices to help regulate behavior. These Social Narratives include information and teaching about new public heath procedures like wearing a mask, social distancing, and having boundaries, as well as provide visuals and aid to understand emotions accompanied with this pandemic.
