The aim of the LEND Program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and The University of Cincinnati (CCHMC/UC) is to train culturally competent, family-centered interdisciplinary leaders who will improve the health of infants, children, and adolescents with or at risk for developmental disabilities. In addition, a major focus of the CCHMC/UC LEND program is to increase the number of professionals with knowledge and skills to provide evidence-based screening for and diagnosis and treatment of autism and other developmental disabilities. LEND trainees come from over 10 disciplines and include family members of children with disabilities. The CCHMC/UC LEND Program is one of 43 LEND Programs nationwide, funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the federal government.
